A 50-year-old motorcyclist involved in a collision with a car in Altrincham last night has died.

A 50-year-old motorcyclist involved in a collision with a car in Altrincham last night has died.

Police confirmed the sad news this evening having earlier said he was fighting for his life.

Numerous emergency vehicles had been called to Regent Road, at the junction with Groby Road, at around 7.10pm last night.

The motorcyclist was riding a red Ducati Multistrada when he was involved in a collision with a red Volkswagen Touran.

Police Constable Phil Shaw, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “With his family by his bedside, the man has sadly died in hospital.

“As we give them the space they need to deal with this horrific news, I’d urge witnesses or anyone with information that could help us, to get in contact.”
