Mothercare is to close its Altrincham store, the retailer has confirmed.
The Altrincham Retail Park store had been under threat after the baby goods retailer said last month that it would be closing 60 of its 137 stores, cutting 900 jobs in the process.
And it’s now been confirmed to Altrincham Today that its Altrincham store is one of those affected, although no closing date has yet been confirmed.
Mothercare hopes to make annual savings of around £10m with the closures, which will be carried out through a company voluntary arrangement (CVA).
The nearest Mothercare stores remaining open will be at Junction Nine Retail Park in Warrington and Manchester Fort Shopping Park in Cheetham Hill.
