A vintage-inspired ladieswear boutique is opening in Altrincham town centre.
Violet Loves Vintage is launching in the vacant unit on the corner of George Street and Shaw’s Road, most recently occupied on a short-term Christmas let by The Calendar Club.
Husband and wife team Rachel and Iain Warburton, who both live in Altrincham, are behind the new opening.
Rachel originally set up Violet Loves Vintage – named after her daughter and grandmother – as a stall at Altrincham Market two years. After six months she moved to the Post Rooms on Stamford New Road before moving to Afflecks Palace in Manchester city centre, where the business has been based for the last 18 months.
In that time husband Iain left his job as a national sales manager to help run the business.
Rachel said: “We wanted our own shop front, we wanted to be in Altrincham because we live here, this is where our heart is and our home is. We’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to come here and here we are.”
The 650 sq ft unit, which opens on Friday, will sell vintage ladieswear inspired mainly by the 1940s and 50s.
It will also sell shoes, handbags and accessories, covering sizes ranging from 6 to 26. The shop will also offer free advice on style for customers.
Violet Loves Vintage will be open seven days a week – 9am to 5.30pm from Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 4pm on Sundays.
This weekend the shop will have a special launch offer of free Prosecco and cupcakes for customers.
“We’re really excited, almost bouncing around with excitement!” said Rachel. “It’s been hard work moving everything here from Afflecks, but we can’t wait to get started now.”
