A Hale Barns restaurant that reopened last year as a family-friendly Mediterranean bar and grill has announced its closure “with a heavy heart”.
Barns Bar Grill opened in the 4,000 sq ft Hale Barns Square unit opposite Booths supermarket in September 2018 and promised a “warmer” and less expensive offer than its high-profile predecessor, Fox.
Local entrepreneur – and Hale Barns resident – Michael Goldstone had been behind the relaunch.
But Barns Bar and Grill struggled to attract enough custom for a location that is developing a reputation as a hard one to make work for a restaurant.
A notice on the door simply confirms: “It is with a heavy heart we had had to close Barns Bar & Grill.
“We thank you for your custom and have enjoyed serving you.”
