The restaurateur behind the Sangam Indian restaurants in Didsbury and Manchester is to open in Bowdon.
Mohammad Salim is to open Sangam in the former Swadesh site on Richmond Road.
The 120-cover restaurant will offer authentic modern Indian food and will be recruiting over 10 staff.
The new restaurant will be managed by Nitya Pathak, who has previously managed Sigiriya in Hale and Rasassi on The Downs.
Head chef will be Mamrej Khan, who in a 25-year career has worked in restaurants across the world including the Taj Hotels in Chennai, The Rose Garden in the Maldives and the Palace Inn Hotel in Bahrain.
Most recently he was head chef at The Mint Room in Bath, which won a string of awards during his tenure and he was named one of the 10 best chefs in the city in its Good Food Awards.
The restaurant had a complete refurbishment since Swadesh closed down late last year, and will be opening on Friday May 10th.
Sangam also has outlets on Portland Street in Manchester and Wilmslow Road in Didsbury (pictured top).
