[dropcap type=An air ambulance was called to a road traffic accident close to Trafford College this afternoon in which a male teenager suffered head injuries.
North West Ambulance Service received a call at 3.08pm to the incident near to the junction of Stamford Brook Road and Manchester Road.
A spokesperson said that a male teenager suffered head injuries but the seriousness of his condition was not yet known.
An air ambulance was called but the teenager was eventually transported to Wythenshawe Hospital by land ambulance after receiving treatment at the scene.
The incident caused serious congestion in the area for around 45 minutes but the scene was cleared by around 4pm.
Police remained at the scene to continue investigations into the incident. The air ambulance departed from playing fields close to Trafford College shortly before 4pm.
