A gang used a car to ram a perimeter wall before stealing five cars during a burglary at a car dealership in Altrincham last night.
Police were called to reports of a burglary at Evans Halshaw on Manchester Road shortly after 7.45am this morning.
A man was subsequently discovered to have forced entry to the premises at 11.20pm on Sunday evening and stolen a number of car keys.
Then, just after 2am this morning, a group of around 10 offenders are believed to have returned and stolen five cars by using a vehicle to ram through a perimeter wall.
The cars stolen were a silver Ford Focus (reg GF62 WEP), blue Ford Fiesta (MK18 LGC), grey Ford Fiesta (DN18 JJZ), silver Ford Fiesta (MH68 EOU) and white Ford Fiesta (MJ19 OEX).
No arrests have been made.
Inspector Dave Jones of GMP’s Trafford Division said: “This was a well-planned burglary that has deliberately targeted this business premises.
“I know people in the community will be worried by this burglary.
“I would like to reassure the public and advise we are treating this as an isolated incident and are determined to find those responsible.
“We have been following a number of lines of enquiry and are appealing for the public to come forward with any information or dashcam footage they might have.
“While this burglary took place in the early hours, the offenders used a vehicle to ram a wall to enable them to get the vehicles out.
“As such I believe there may be potential witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have either seen or heard the incident on going. I would urge those people to contact the police as soon as possible.”
