A 30-year-old motorcyclist has died after a collision involving a car in Altrincham.
Police are appealing for more information about the incident, which happened on Whitecarr Lane at around 8am this morning.
After responding to reports of a collision, officers found that a red Kawasaki motorcycle – travelling away from Clay Lane – had collided with an oncoming black Volkswagon Caddy.
The rider, a 30-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, which is close to the Wythenshawe/Hale border.
His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support.
The driver of the Volkswagon stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made. Investigations are continuing.
Sergeant Matt Picton, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This incident sadly resulted in the death of a man and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this devastating time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would like to use this opportunity to appeal to anyone with information or dash cam footage which may assist us to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
