The brother of Manchester Arena bomber Salman Abedi has been found guilty of murdering 22 people.
A jury at the Old Bailey in London found that Hashem Abedi, 22, conspired with his brother, who killed himself and 22 others when he detonated a bomb at an Ariana Grande concert on May 22nd 2017.
He had denied the charges and had distanced himself from the atrocity, which also left up to a 1,000 others with either physical injury or mental trauma.
But evidence presented in court showed how he was involved in the research, experimentation and making the explosives, with his DNA and fingerprints found in the properties in Manchester where they both made the bomb.
Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Barraclough, the senior investigating officer on the night of the attack, said Abedi had shown “not one jot of emotion” or remorse during the trial.
“He is a man who is equally responsible as his brother for this horrendous attack, this monstrous attack. The way he has conducted himself since he landed demonstrates even more the jihadi mindset that would be supportive of the sick ideology of IS (Islamic State),” he added.
