Homebase has fully reopened its Altrincham store as part of a trial as it looks to remerge from the coronavirus shutdown.
The DIY chain has been operating a Click & Collect service for customers since closing down following government advice a month ago.
But it has now reopened 20 of its 150+ stores nationwide, and its Altrincham Retail Park site is one of them, with others to follow if the trial proves a success.
Homebase says that “strict controls” will be in place in the reopened stores to ensure that shopping is safe for everyone.
Homebase chief executive Damian McGloughlin said: “With the safety of our customers and teams as our first priority, we took the decision to temporarily close our stores and operate online only.
“We have taken this time to carefully review and make a large number of changes to our operations in preparation for a safe, phased reopening, in line with Government guidance on social distancing.”
