Aldi’s Altrincham store to launch home delivery service

Shoppers will be able to order products from Aldi’s Altrincham store for delivery in as little as half an hour as part of a new partnership with Deliveroo.

Shoppers will be able to order products from Aldi’s Altrincham store for delivery in as little as half an hour as part of a new partnership with Deliveroo.

The UK’s fifth largest supermarket – which recently confirmed it is looking to open a second store in the town – currently has a 13,800 sq ft site on the Altrincham Retail Park.

And it’s now set to be one of the first in the country to trial a new service which will offer local residents a choice of more than 200 Aldi products via the Deliveroo app.

This will include a range of essential items such as bread, milk and fresh produce, which will be picked and packed by Aldi staff for delivery by Deliveroo’s network of riders.

The new partnership will go live next week. If it’s the same as other stores currently offering the service, there will be a minimum order value of £15, with a £5 charge for shopping baskets that fall below that level.

Richard Thornton, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “We hope the new trial with Deliveroo will provide more customers in Altrincham with access to great quality food at Aldi’s unbeatable prices.
