Altrincham’s two cinemas have announced plans to reopen later this month.
Everyman Cinema, which opened its George Street cinema in November 2018, is to reopen on Friday August 21st after a break of five months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And the Vue Cinema on Denmark Street will be reopening on Wednesday August 26th.
The cinemas will be reopening just in time for the launch of Christopher Nolan’s hotly anticipated new film, Tenet.
Vue is also bringing a number of fan-favourite films back to the big screen to mark the reopening, includig the Harry Potter series, La La Land and Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.
The chain is encouraging online booking, and there will also be enhanced cleaning and staff will wear PPE.
The booking system will also ensure that customers are seated apart to meet social distancing guidelines.
Cinema-goers, meanwhile, will be required to wear a face covering during their visit, although this can be removed to consume food and drink.
Stephen Bridge, General Manager at Vue Altrincham, said: “We’re really pleased to be preparing to reopen our cinema once again and we look forward to welcoming film fans back soon.
“We’ve been working hard to ensure our site meets safety protocols in line with the latest government guidance.”
