The Not So Secret Garden has been given a festive makeover for the Christmas period.
The community hub in Stamford Square was unveiled back in June and included al fresco seating areas, a solar-powered pergola, festoon lighting and a lush flower wall.
Now its creators, Bruntwood Works, have transformed it into a new “cosy and magical festive destination” called the Not So Secret Grotto.
There’s a new roof for the central pergola, the big seating domes have been cladded for the winter, and there’s more cover across the whole site as well as Christmas touches including fairy lights and lanterns.
On-site bar Stutter and Twitch has gone seasonal too, and is serving a range of Christmassy hot drinks with a homemade fruity mulled wine and a spiced rum-infused apple cider punch. Its festive menu also features bratwurst and festive sandwiches.
There’ll be live music every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and the hub will host a series of children’s craft sessions every Saturday, from 12-4pm.
Run by local craft experts Inch Art, the free sessions – which don’t need to be booked – will include the opportunity for children to make seasonal craft creations to take home.
