A 73-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a woman in Hale.

The charge relates to an incident that happened just before 9.15am on Wednesday March 24th 2021, when police found a woman with fatal injuries at a property on Canterbury Road.

The 71-year-old woman, who was subsequently identified as Dyanne Mansfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family later paid tribute to a “much-loved wife, sister and friend”.

Graham Mansfield, of Canterbury Road in Hale, has now been charged with the murder of Dyanne.

He is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court this morning.

An inquest in Mrs Mansfield’s death found she was discovered in the back garden with an “incised wound to the neck”.
