Three Altrincham parks have been awarded a prestigious Green Flag award.
Denzell Gardens in Bowdon, John Leigh Park in Altrincham and Woodheys Park in West Timperley have secured the award for the fourth year in a row.
Eleven of Trafford’s parks and green spaces were recognised with the award, which is judged on criteria including safety and security, litter management, community involvement and environmental management.
The other parks were Davyhulme Park, Flixton Gardens, Hullard Park, Lostock Park, Victoria Park, Walkden Gardens, Walton Park and Worthington Park.
Trafford’s Green Flag Award parks are managed by the One Trafford Partnership, with the support of volunteer Friends of Parks groups.
Councillor Stephen Adshead, Executive Member for Environmental Services, said: “I would like to congratulate everyone on achieving 11 Green Flag Awards for a fourth year running.
“A huge thank you to the dedicated volunteers that make up the Friends of Parks groups, our operational teams and the green space team. One Trafford and Friends have also been working together to create better, biodiverse habitats by planting daffodils, crocus and wildflower meadows.”
