A new home development built on the site of the former Hale library is already 50% sold.

Writers’ Row is a collection of eight homes on Leigh Road and Addison Road in the heart of the village.

The sale of the library site has funded the construction of the new library and community centre on the site of the former bowling pavilion by developer Westshield.

Four of the new homes are already sold and four three-storey, four-bedroom semi-detached properties are still available, priced at £1.095million each.

“Writers’ Row was an incredibly rare development opportunity that arose from the relocation of the old village library,” said Phillip Diggle, director of Gascoigne Halman’s Hale office.

How the new Hale community centre and library will look

“These properties are therefore extremely well positioned in the centre of the village and boast all the advantages house hunters expect from newly constructed, highly insulated homes.”

The properties feature SieMatic kitchens, two parking spaces with EV capability and landscaped gardens including built-in seating and fire pits.

The construction of the new community centre and library is expected in early 2023.

“Residents of Hale had a long wait for this development to be agreed and approved so we are particularly pleased that we have delivered it so swiftly, said Patrick Waldron, Managing Director at Westshield.
