Firefighters were called to a blaze at the Altrincham tip on Monday.
The emergency services were called to Woodhouse Lane Recycling Centre off Sinderland Road at around 4pm on Monday.
Two fire engines from fire stations in Altrincham and Sale took around an hour to put out the blaze, which started in a skip.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Just before 4pm, two fire engines from Altrincham and Sale fire stations were called to reports of a small skip fire at a recycling centre on Woodhouse Lane.
“Firefighters used a short extension ladder, hose reel and a running end to extinguish the fire. Firefighters were in attendance for around an hour.”
