A local GP has launched a new women’s holistic health service in Altrincham.

Dr Bev Matta will deliver the new service from Extracellular, a private GP practice near Altrincham Retail Park.

It will provide specialist one-to-one advice and care to female patients to encourage a better understanding of managing the menopause and a range of other women’s health conditions.

Dr Matta has been a GP in the North West for over 10 years and has qualifications in sexual and reproductive health, as well as further post qualification training in menopause care.

She said: “We live in an era when women’s health is being talked about much more openly and topics such as the menopause are less of a taboo.

“Despite this, females are still struggling to access the specific care they need, sadly due to increased pressures and demand within the NHS.

“Since having my own children and interacting with healthcare on a personal level, I recognise the need to empower and support people to make their own choices.

“As a GP I bring a wide breadth of knowledge meaning I can offer sound, evidence-based advice, taking into consideration any existing health concerns. I am excited about the launch of my service, which aims to support and give women confidence to address their health needs.”
