Here are the 23 Altrincham roads getting essential maintenance work in April and May

Trafford Council has revealed the list of Altrincham roads it will be carrying out essential maintenance work over the next two months.

The local authority will be working on 43 projects across the borough but 23 of them are located in Altrincham and its surrounding wards, which include Bowdon, Broadheath, Hale, Hale Barns and Priory.

Local schemes will include Hale Road A538, Whitehouse Drive in Hale Barns and Sylvan Grove in Altrincham town centre.

There are also a number of footway improvement schemes including on the A56 in Broadheath.

Trafford says that all schemes are weather dependent and householders will receive a letter ahead of the works.

Some roads will receive resurfacing and reconstruction treatment which consists of a new surface layer to improve the road condition.

Other roads will receive surface dressing, which is a preventative treatment to waterproof the existing surface and provide additional skid resistance. It will also help to prevent cracks and potholes forming, continuing to keep the road in good condition for years to come.

The One Trafford Partnership, which handles highways work, will also begin a new round of improvements for 2023/24 next month.

The list of that work is yet to be revealed.
