An Altrincham firm is looking to create up to 50 new jobs after expanding into the Grade II listed Bank House in the town centre.

Digital transformation experts Informed Solutions has been based in The Old Bank in Old Market Place for a number of years.

But to support the growth of its business and future plans, the company has now also acquired the adjoining Bank House.

The three-floor property was originally built for William Cunliffe Brooks in 1872 when he moved his banking business from Church Street.

It was designed by the architect George Truefitt, whose style was to make his buildings Tudor-like with characteristic black and white medieval colours.

Among the features in Bank House include a 32-foot-high stained glass window, a patterned tiled roof, and even the owner’s initials engraved on the chimney.

Informed Solutions says the new building will allow it to create 50 new hybrid roles in digital technology and data sciences.

The company works across a variety of sectors, including healthcare, policing and civil defence and environment.

It was recently honoured with a second Queen’s Award for Innovation.

Group CEO, Elizabeth Vega OBE, said: “We are proud to be in the position to grow our capabilities in Manchester and have acquired an Altrincham landmark building, which is also one of Manchester’s significant historic buildings.”
