An Altrincham-headquartered recruitment company has strengthened its foothold in the American energy market after acquiring a Texas-based specialist firm.
Worldwide Recruitment Solutions (WRS), which has its UK corporate hub on Church Street in Altrincham, has announced the acquisition of Mackinnon & Partners, a Houston recruitment business serving the US oil and gas, renewables, substation, construction and manufacturing sectors.
The deal is the latest step in WRS's strategy of growing through targeted acquisitions alongside organic expansion, and the company says it cements its position as a leading technical talent provider for the energy industry across the Americas.

Mackinnon & Partners was founded in 2021 by Andrew Mackinnon, who brings more than two decades of experience in the US energy and global recruitment market. The firm is said to have attracted interest from several potential buyers before choosing WRS.
"We received considerable interest from other parties as we weighed our options, and WRS was the right fit: a business that shares our culture, our values and our ambition," said Mr Mackinnon, who will continue to lead the business.

The entire Mackinnon & Partners team will join WRS, with the company saying clients and consultants can expect no immediate changes to operations.
Founded more than 20 years ago, WRS provides workforce solutions to the global energy, marine and offshore, and construction markets, with hubs in Altrincham, Tampa, South America, Africa and Singapore, and a network of offices spanning five continents.
