The autumn issue of Altrincham Today magazine is out now – with thousands of free copies distributed across Altrincham, Hale, Hale Barns, Bowdon, Broadheath and Timperley.

The 56-page Issue 35 is packed with local people, businesses, news, schools, property, food and drink – as well as our regular reviews and guides.

Among the main features is the story of The Old Packet House, Altrincham’s historic canalside pub, which is reopening following a £400,000 transformation. We speak to co-owner Carl Stonehouse about his unlikely journey from working 12-hour factory shifts to running one of the town’s oldest pubs.

We celebrate 30 years of The Music Place, meet Clay and More founder Francesca Ball, talk style and confidence with Altrincham personal stylist Lauren Galloway, and visit ProSpinal following its move into The Stables in Hale village.

We also meet Peter Lee, the former Orangetheory member who was so disappointed when its Stamford Quarter studio closed that he decided to take it over himself. His new independent gym, Altytude Fitness, is opening after being fitted out with more than £300,000 of new equipment.

Elsewhere, there's also a look inside move Altrincham a year after its reopening, the story of two Hale Barns couples celebrating a remarkable combined 135 years of marriage, and the latest expensive homes to change hands locally.

For parents, the issue includes our Altrincham school league tables, a round-up of this summer's GCSE and A-level results and details of Altrincham Preparatory School's new academic scholarship programme.

And towards the back of the magazine you'll find autumn fashion from FatFace, our latest books and wine columns, an updated Altrincham dining guide, and a look inside Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere following its £125m transformation into a five-star resort.

The magazine is completely free.
