Canal Road, Green Walk and sections of Hale Road are among a number of Altrincham-area roads earmarked for resurfacing as part of a new £4.99 million Trafford Council highways programme.
The additional Highways Structural Maintenance Programme includes £75,000 for a section of Canal Road between Park Road and Deansgate Lane, while £100,000 has been allocated for a section of Green Walk, approximately between Green Courts and Holmwood.
The Green Walk investment comes after a campaign by local residents over the condition of the road.
A petition signed by 364 people was presented to the same meeting of Trafford Council's Executive, calling for the full resurfacing of Green Walk in Altrincham and Bowdon to be prioritised for immediate capital investment and included in the council's 2027/28 Capital Programme.
The £100,000 now earmarked in the additional highways programme is for a sub-section of Green Walk rather than the full length of the road requested by petitioners.
Another £125,000 has been earmarked for Ashley Road and Railway Street, covering the stretch between Hale Road and The Downs.
Two sections of Hale Road are also on the list.
The council has allocated £130,000 for sub-sections between Wicker Lane and Tithebarn Road, with a further £170,000 earmarked for the section between High Elm Road and Junction 6 of the M56.
Other local schemes include £95,000 for Langham Road, approximately between Bow Green Road and Talbot Road, and £110,000 for Talbot Road between the A56 and Byron Road.
Green councillor Michael Welton said he was "delighted" that the Ashley Road and Railway Street scheme had been included, having been trying to get the road prioritised "for a fair while".
He said he was also "very happy" to see investment earmarked for Canal Road, although it sits just outside his ward.
The schemes are contained in an additional £4.99m highways structural maintenance programme detailed in council budget papers.
Of the total, £3.965m is allocated to carriageway resurfacing, with another £500,000 for surface dressing, treatment and micro-asphalt and £525,000 for patching repairs intended to improve the integrity of the road network.
The papers do not give individual start dates for the resurfacing schemes.
