Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat brings a splash of colour to Altrincham Garrick this half-term

It opens on Thursday 22 October - and tickets are going fast.

One of musical theatre’s best-loved shows is coming to Altrincham Garrick Playhouse this October half-term.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the hit musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, will run at the Garrick from Thursday 22 October to Sunday 1 November.

The family-friendly production promises an all-singing, all-dancing spectacle, with audiences also being invited to enjoy a different kind of Halloween treat when the show takes to the stage on Saturday 31 October.

Based on the biblical story of Joseph and his famous coat of many colours, the musical follows the young dreamer as he is betrayed by his 11 jealous brothers, sold into slavery and imprisoned before eventually rising to become an advisor to the Pharaoh.

First performed more than half a century ago, Joseph has become one of the most enduring musicals of all time, thanks in part to its eclectic soundtrack.

Featuring everything from country and western and calypso to disco and rock ’n’ roll, the show includes the much-loved songs Any Dream Will Do and Close Every Door, alongside an Elvis-inspired Pharaoh.

With its colourful costumes, energetic dance routines and memorable songs, the production is aimed at audiences of all ages, from first-time theatregoers to those who have grown up with the musical.

The Garrick says demand for tickets is already high, with limited availability for some performances.
