The Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical Dear Evan Hansen is coming to Altrincham Little Theatre next month.
Sale & Altrincham Musical Theatre (SAMT) will stage the acclaimed production from Tuesday 1st to Saturday 5th December, with five evening performances and a Saturday matinee.
The contemporary musical follows Evan Hansen, a socially anxious high school student who longs to fit in and find his place in the world.
When a tragedy leads to an unexpected misunderstanding, Evan finds himself at the centre of a grieving community – and caught up in a lie that quickly spirals beyond his control.
Exploring themes of mental health, loneliness, social media and the desire to belong, Dear Evan Hansen has become an international hit since its Broadway debut.
The show features music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the award-winning songwriting duo behind The Greatest Showman and La La Land.

Its best-known songs include Waving Through a Window, For Forever and You Will Be Found.
Owen Henshall, chair of SAMT, said: "We are incredibly excited to bring Dear Evan Hansen to our local stage.
"It is a profoundly moving show that resonates strongly with audiences of all generations.
"Performing it in the intimate and historic setting of Altrincham Little Theatre allows us to connect with the audience on a truly powerful, emotional level."
The theatre company is also encouraging local schools and colleges to attend, highlighting the production's relevance to students studying drama, performing arts and PSHE.
A teachers' resource pack is available on request, featuring background information, discussion prompts and classroom activities designed to help students explore the musical's themes.
SAMT, one of the area's established amateur theatre companies, has a long history of bringing West End and Broadway productions to local audiences.
Dear Evan Hansen will run at Altrincham Little Theatre on Oxford Road from December 1st to 5th, with evening performances starting at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee also scheduled.
