Altrincham FC will take centre stage on national television tomorrow as they welcome League One side Notts County to the J.Davidson Stadium for a highly anticipated FA Cup first-round clash.

The match at Moss Lane will kick off at 5.30pm and will be broadcast live on BBC Two and TNT Sports, giving the Robins a chance to showcase the club to a nationwide audience.

Coverage begins at 5pm on TNT Sports 1 and HBO Max, with BBC Two and BBC iPlayer joining the action from 5.15pm.

The tie offers Altrincham the opportunity to add another chapter to their remarkable FA Cup history.

The Robins hold the record for the most victories over Football League opposition by a club that has never played in the Football League, having recorded 17 such wins.

They will be hoping to make that 18 against a Notts County side currently playing two divisions above them.

Altrincham secured their place in the first round with an emphatic 6-2 victory over FC United of Manchester in a fourth qualifying round replay at Broadhurst Park last month.

After falling behind early on, Alty responded with six goals, including doubles from Leo Farrell and Aidan Barlow, to book their meeting with the Magpies.

Their opponents are one of English football's most historic clubs. Founded in 1862, Notts County are the world's oldest professional football club and were among the founding members of the Football League in 1888. They also lifted the FA Cup in 1894.

However, County suffered a first-round upset of their own last season, losing on penalties to non-league Brackley Town.

The match will also provide a significant financial boost for Altrincham.

Both clubs will receive £50,000 for being selected for live television coverage, with the winners collecting a further £47,750 in FA Cup prize money. Even the losing side will receive £15,800.

The fixture is all-ticket, with no admission available at the turnstiles on Saturday. Adult tickets are priced at £23, with concessions and discounted junior tickets also available.

For supporters unable to make it to Moss Lane, the entire match will be available free-to-air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

With a place in the second round at stake and the television cameras watching, Altrincham will be hoping to produce another memorable afternoon in their proud FA Cup history.
