Frantic search resumes for Hale boy missing for over 12 hours

A frantic search is continuing this morning for a Hale boy who has now been missing for more than 12 hours.

Luke Howe, 14, was last seen on Bankhall Lane at 6.13pm on Thursday evening.

He was wearing his school uniform - a blue jumper and dark grey trousers - when he disappeared.

He has brown hair and police described him as being of slim build.

A Facebook post shared by his aunt, Jessica Howe, said: "He has global developmental delays and has run away from his grandparents' home. He is known to put himself in dangerous situations so we are all incredibly concerned.

"Please can anyone in the area keep a lookout for him, check Ring doorbells for any sightings of him and if you hear or see anything please get in touch with the police directly or us."

A further update at 6.30 this morning confirmed he was still missing.

Officers from Greater Manchester Police first shared an appeal to find Luke at around 11.50pm last night, and said they were "becoming increasingly concerned" for him.

Anyone with information is being urged to call 101 or 999 immediately.
