A teenage boy has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Timperley this morning.
The boy, who witnesses described as being around 15 or 16, was hit on Park Road - close to the Spar convenience store - by an Audi car travelling towards Timperley village.
The incident happened at around 7.30 this morning.
A witness who arrived on the scene moments after the collision had happened told us that the boy appeared to have suffered serious injuries.
There is no further update on his condition and we are awaiting an official comment from Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service.
Emergency services remain at the scene and officers said it could be a number of hours before the road is reopened.
Currently, police are stopping any motorists from driving in either direction on the Park Road stretch between the junctions with Bollin Drive and Canal Road.
Officers say they are currently unable to say how long the stretch of road will be closed off, but that it could be a number of hours.
