A man had to be rescued from his vehicle after a crash on a residential street in Altrincham this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Barrington Road shortly after 4.15pm following reports of a single-car collision.
Two fire engines from Altrincham and Wythenshawe fire stations attended the scene, along with the Enhanced Rescue Unit from Leigh Community Fire Station. Officers from Greater Manchester Police were also in attendance.
Firefighters worked alongside police colleagues to make the area safe before extricating one male casualty from the vehicle. He was then transferred into the care of North West Ambulance Service.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescure Service said: "Shortly after 4.15pm on Wednesday 25 February, two fire engines from Altrincham and Wythenshawe fire stations, and the Enhanced Rescue Unit from Leigh Community Fire Station, were called to attend a road traffic collision involving one car on Barrington Road, Altrincham.
"Crews arrived quickly and worked alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police to make the area safe.
"One male casualty was extricated from the vehicle and transferred into the care of North West Ambulance Service."
Crews remained at the scene for approximately one hour.
There's no word yet on the condition of the man involved.
