A man has been charged with murder in connection with the hit-and-run death of Stretford Grammar School headteacher Michael Mullins.
Simon Richardson, 34, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder, manslaughter, dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving without insurance following the collision on Paddock Lane on Monday evening.
Richardson was remanded in custody and will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court today (Friday 24 April).
Mr Mullins, 56, from Weaverham, Northwich, was cycling home from school when he was struck by a car at the junction of Paddock Lane, Warburton Lane and Dunham Road at around 6.10pm on Monday 20 April. The car failed to stop at the scene.
