A large emergency response descended on Timperley village this afternoon following an incident at a supermarket that left two people injured.
Multiple police vehicles and emergency crews rushed to Stockport Road after the incident at the Iceland store at around 12:45pm.
Two victims were treated at the scene for what we understand were slash wounds. Both individuals were said to have sustained minor injuries.
Greater Manchester Police officers detained a male suspect on suspicion of assault at 12:54pm, nine minutes after the initial report was made.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody for questioning.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is currently underway. The store reopened later this afternoon.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said:
"Officers were called to reports of an assault on Stockport Road, Timperley, at around 12:47pm this afternoon (Monday 8 June).
A man was quickly detained and arrested at 12:54pm on suspicion of assault.
Two victims sustained minor injuries.
Enquires remain ongoing."
