An Altrincham head teacher has won a ‘Frontline Keyworker Award’ at Trafford’s International Women’s Day awards.
Natanya O’Hara, the head of Bollin Primary School in Bowdon, was recognised for being a “beacon of positivity” after being nominated by staff and parents of the school.
She was presented with the award by Kate Green, Shadow Education Secretary and MP for Stretford and Urmston.
Green said: “She’s been working in a truly amazing way over the last 12 months, a real beacon of positivity for the whole school community. She sees the positives in every situation.
“She put the wellbeing of children, parents and staff first and gone over and above in all the ways she’s supporting others.
“Tanya‘s strong leadership has really steered the school through a very challenging 12 months and ensured everyone’s spirits remained high and the school community stayed connected and thriving. She’s an inspirational team leader nothing short of outstanding.”
Mrs O’Hara has been Head of School at Bollin since January 2019, two years after the school was placed in special measures by Ofsted after a fall-out between parents and the then head teacher.
