St Ambrose College has joined the Laetare Catholic Multi-Academy Trust in a move that Principal Dermot Rainey describes as "an exciting step forward" for the Hale Barns school.
The Catholic grammar school, founding by the Congregation of Christian Brothers, officially became part of the Trust on 1st June, alongside sister school St Anselm's College in Birkenhead.
Mr Rainey emphasised that the partnership would preserve what makes St Ambrose special while opening new opportunities.
"Joining Laetare allows us to collaborate more deeply with like-minded Religious Order schools and benefit from shared expertise while preserving the unique charism of Edmund Rice education," he said.
"Our mission remains the same: to form young men of faith, integrity and compassion, equipped to have a positive impact in the modern world."
The Laetare Catholic Multi-Academy Trust represents a new model for Religious Order schools, bringing together institutions committed to academic excellence, faith formation and social justice.
As the only national Catholic Multi-Academy Trust of its kind, Laetare offers St Ambrose access to shared resources and expertise while maintaining the school's distinctive Catholic identity.
Andrew Bridson, Interim CEO of Laetare Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, said: "We are absolutely delighted to welcome St Ambrose College and St Anselm’s College into the Laetare Trust. These are schools with proud traditions and a clear Catholic ethos, and we are honoured to be working in partnership with their communities."
Brother Dominic Sassi, a Trustee of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, called the partnership "a natural progression" that would "enrich the lives of students, staff and the wider community".
