A tuition centre that launched in Altrincham just a year ago has relocated to larger Grade II listed premises on Old Market Place as demand from local families continues to grow.
Green Tuition, founded by former primary school teacher Chloe Green, opened in 2025 with a simple philosophy: tuition should feel personal, supportive and relationship-led, while still delivering strong academic outcomes.
After 12 months of rapid growth - driven largely through word of mouth - the business has outgrown its original town centre space and is now entering what Chloe describes as a major new chapter.
The new premises at 16 Old Market Place have been carefully designed with both children and parents in mind. Alongside dedicated tuition rooms and specialist 11-plus workshop areas, the building includes a downstairs parent waiting area with Wi-Fi and refreshments, in response to feedback from local families.
"We wanted to create a space that genuinely makes life easier for families," says Chloe. "Parents are balancing so much already, so if they can comfortably work downstairs, enjoy a coffee or quickly tick a few things off their to-do list while their child is learning, that's a huge benefit."

Located just a short walk from Altrincham high street, the new space also allows parents to make use of the town centre during their child's session.
Green Tuition works exclusively with fully qualified teachers - something Chloe says has always been central to the business. Unlike many tuition providers, every session stays closely aligned with classroom learning while also preparing children for the additional demands of 11-plus entrance exams.
"That was always really important to me," she says. "We wanted parents to know their child is being taught by someone who genuinely understands how children learn, not just how to get through a worksheet."

The expansion has also allowed Green Tuition to grow its team of qualified teachers, offering more specialist support across English, maths and 11-plus preparation. Class sizes remain intentionally capped, ensuring children receive genuinely personalised attention rather than getting lost in large groups.
"Every child learns differently and needs different levels of encouragement and support," says Chloe. "Keeping workshops smaller allows us to really get to know the children and adapt to them individually."
The business continues to use its own bespoke textbooks to teach the 11-plus curriculum before progressing students onto GL Assessment-style practice papers, designed to build exam familiarity and confidence gradually.

Despite the growth, Chloe is clear that the company's core philosophy hasn't changed.
"I still believe confidence comes before results," she says. "Children learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions and when they genuinely enjoy coming to sessions. If a child feels relaxed and supported, the progress follows naturally."
For Chloe, who grew up locally and launched the business after working in both schools and private tuition, the past year has been both rewarding and, at times, surreal.
"I genuinely still wake up every day excited to do this," she says. "Watching children grow in confidence, settle into schools they love and realise they're capable of things they once struggled with - that still is, and always will be, the best part of the job."
