Aldi is to open its brand new Altrincham supermarket on Thursday 15th October.
The new 18,600 sq ft store, on the Atlantic Street Retail Park between United Carpets and The Gym Group, replaces the existing store on Davenport Lane.
The unit was previously used by B&Q, which closed down in September 2016. It is 35% bigger than the current Aldi in Altrincham.
Carl Palmer has been appointed Store Manager and will lead a team of 32 staff, most of whom are transferring from the current store. Four new jobs are being created.
Palmer said: “We’re really looking forward to opening the new Aldi store here in Altrincham. It’ll be lovely to welcome local customers into the store and provide them with access to affordable, high quality food.”
Additionally, the new Aldi store is calling on local charities and food banks in Altrincham to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that links businesses to charitable organisations in the local community.
Local charities that register will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables and baked goods, up to five days a week. Any charities in the area that would like to partner up with the new Aldi store should email aldi@neighbourly.com.
The new store will be open from 8am to 10pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
