JD Sports is to open a major new store in Altrincham.
The Bury-headquartered retailer, which has had shop on George Street in the town centre since 2016, is to take over the former Argos unit at Altrincham Retail Park.
The 10,000 sq ft unit has been vacant since October 2022.
JD Sports' new location will mean it sits right next door to another highly successful sports retailer, Sports Direct.
JD Sports, which started out in 1981 as a single shop in Bury, is now a global brand with over 900 stores across 21 territories worldwide.
It recently announced it was on track to post pre-tax profit of £1.04billion this year, with sales nearing £5bn.
Earlier this year, the retailer said it was looking to open 10 retail park stores a year as part of wider growth plans.
