LOOKFANTASTIC opens first concept store in Altrincham - and first 100 customers to spend £50 will get £300 gift bag

It's the latest new arrival in the Stamford Quarter.

Beauty brand LOOKFANTASTIC is to open its first ever concept store in Altrincham tomorrow - and the first 100 customers to spend £50 will get a goodie bag valued at £300.

The new 5,392 sq ft store is opening in the former JD Sports unit on George Street in the Stamford Quarter.

It will stock over 90 beauty brands including, exclusively, the dermatologist-founded brand Dr Loretta, plus the likes of Sol De Janeiro, Color Wow, YSL, Lancome and Jo Malone London.

LOOKFANTASTIC says the new store is designed "to educate customers about the brands and products through the in-real-life experience".

Inside the new store

There will be in-store beauty experts, a range of treatments from what the brand is calling the "world's first Color Wow salon", monthly beauty pop-ups and The Beauty Bar, a dedicated space for beauty services, events and social experiences.

It will also have a recycling station, dedicated "quiet hours" on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for customers seeking a calmer experience, and - instead of traditional product window displays - a Spotlight Stage for "creative and experiential pop-ups beyond pure product".

LOOKFANTASTIC - which was founded in 1996 and is owned by Manchester Airport-headquartered THG Beauty - is the latest new arrival in the redeveloped and renovated Stamford Quarter, fresh off the completion of the £13.7million Foundation building.

Letting agent Barker Proudlove worked with Bruntwood and Trafford Council - joint owners of the Stamford Quarter - on securing the unit.

The new LOOKFANTASTIC store on George Street will open on Friday

We also recently confirmed that outdoor brand Mountain Warehouse will be opening this autumn in the former Debenhams unit next door.

James Tootle, Head of Retail & Leisure at Bruntwood, said: “The opening of LOOKFANTASTIC marks a new milestone for the Stamford Quarter.

"Welcoming the brand’s first ‘In Real Life’ store showcases just how popular the area has become and it further strengthens the fantastic retail offering we have here.

"The opening will bolster what is an ever growing community of great brands here at the Stamford Quarter as the high street continues to thrive.”

Lucy Gorman, CEO of THG Beauty, added: “We’re excited to bring the LOOKFANTASTIC experience to life with our concept store, offering our loyal community incredible exclusives they won’t be able to find anywhere else.

"This innovative retail space goes beyond products, offering a unique and immersive beauty destination. It perfectly complements our omnichannel strategy, bridging the gap between our established online community and the success of our pop-up events."

Cllr Liz Patel, Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration at Trafford Council, added: “It’s a real testament to the power of regeneration projects that LOOKFANTASTIC have chosen Altrincham to launch their first ever physical store.

"This demonstrates the attractive nature of the area for global brands, which is great news for residents – beauty fanatics or not!

"Altrincham town centre continues to establish itself as a destination for people across the region and beyond, and this addition to the Stamford Quarter, joining other big name brands, will only serve to increase footfall and boost the local economy for residents and businesses alike.”

To celebrate the grand opening on Friday 27th September, the first 100 customers will receive an exclusive limited edition LOOKFANTASTIC gift bag valued at £300, filled with products from iconic brands like NARS, Sol de Janeiro, Elemis and Laneige.

Opening hours on Friday and Saturday this week will be 9:30am to 7pm, but normal Monday-Saturday hours will be 9:30am to 6pm, and 10:30am – 4:30pm on Sunday.
