Dobbies has confirmed the closing date for its Altrincham garden centre.
We revealed in October that the former Wyevale Garden Centre on Green Lane in Timperley was being shut as part of a company restructure.
It had been acquired by Dobbies - Europe’s largest garden centre business - in September 2019 but the group's most recent financial results showed widening losses of £130m.
Owner Ares Management has now confirmed that as part of a restructuring plan, 17 Dobbies sites will be closing, with 465 staff facing redundancy.
Included in that list is the Altrincham centre, and its final day has now been confirmed as Tuesday 17th December.
Other Dobbies in Pennine, Kings Lynn, Gloucester, Harlestone Heath and Gosforth will also be closing before Christmas, with six Little Dobbies having already shut.
