Leading bed retailer Dreams has officially opened the doors of its new Altrincham store.
Dreams has taken over the former Carpetright unit at Altrincham Retail Park, which closed in July 2024.
Located on George Richards Way in Broadheath, the new Dreams store spans almost 10,000 square feet and showcases a wide range of mattresses, pillows, bed frames and sleep accessories.
It officially opened on Friday 4th April and has created five new jobs.
The opening marks a new chapter for the site, which had been home to Carpetright for more than 15 years.

The flooring retailer closed after its parent company filed an intent to appoint administrators last summer.
While rival brand Tapi bought the Carpetright name, warehouses and a selection of stores, the Altrincham unit was not included in the deal, leading to redundancies and the store’s permanent closure.
Dreams’ arrival is part of a national expansion for the brand, following a wave of openings in late 2024 – including its first concept store in East Sheen, London.
The company says more openings are planned throughout 2025 as it continues to grow its UK presence.
Jonathan Hirst, CEO of Dreams, said: “Our new store in Altrincham marks an exciting step in our expansion journey. We’re delighted to be strengthening our UK presence and bringing the very best products and customer service to shoppers in the local area.
"We look forward to welcoming the people of Altrincham and supporting them on their journey to better sleep.”
Dreams, which was founded in 1985, is headquartered in High Wycombe and now employs over 2,000 people across the UK. All its UK-made beds are manufactured at its own factory in Oldbury, West Midlands.
"The company also owns luxury furniture brand Feather & Black and uses its proprietary Sleepmatch technology in-store to help customers find their perfect mattress.
