Pixie, the popular Hale boutique known for its curated selection of children's clothing, toys and gifts, has announced it will close next month.
Owner Gillian Franks announced the closure on social media, describing it as "one of the hardest announcements I've ever had to make".
Franks, a former surveyor, opened the shop in 2010 when her daughter Amelia was just 18 months old. "She helped me cut the ribbon at the start of this amazing journey, and now she's 17," Franks wrote. "Where did the time go!"
Over the past 15 years, Pixie has established itself as a destination for high-quality children's clothing and accessories for babies through to young teens, alongside educational toys and gifts. The boutique earned recognition as a Drapers finalist for three consecutive years and won a CWB Magazine award for Best Kids Store.

The shop also collaborated with OK Magazine on children's fashion styling, appeared on television, and hosted photography shoots and fashion shows for customers.
"My life as a retailer is a million miles away from my days as a surveyor, but I've loved every second," Franks said.
In her announcement, she urged customers to continue supporting independent retailers: "We've made amazing friendships along the way… just keep supporting your local independents!"
A farewell sale is now running, with 50 per cent off seasonal clothing and up to 30 per cent off toys and gifts. The shop will operate reduced hours of Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm, until closing day.
The final day will be on Saturday 14th February.
"Closing Pixie breaks my heart," added Franks. "It’s been my world for 15 years, filled with incredible memories. Your loyalty and support have meant more than I can ever say. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of my story.
"This isn’t the end - just a new beginning."
