Brackendene, pictured today, was once a grand mansion with greenhouses, outbuildings and a swimming pool.
The Charcoal Road property, in Dunham Massey, has been owned by the Iranian government since the 1970s and once housed the country's consul-general, but has long since fallen into disrepair and decay.
Attempts to sell the property or obtain a compulsory purchase order have been thwarted by the fact the house is officially on diplomatic land, as well as the troubled relationship between Iran and the UK in recent years.
