Altrincham FC travel down to Hampshire tomorrow afternoon to take on Aldershot Town in the National League.
The Robins come off the back of a disappointing 2-1 defeat to struggling Southend United.
Parkinson’s side started the game sluggishly and paid the price early on by conceding a goal in the first minute. The visitors compounded Alty’s misery with a second goal midway through the first half.
Although the home side managed to pull a goal back in the second half, the Robins came to rue their many missed chances – including a poor penalty from Ryan Colclough.
In an interview with Radio Robins, Parkinson said: “To concede the two goals is just criminal, we can’t continue to do that if we want to finish near the play-offs in this division.”
He added: “It’s all to do with concentration, it’s a mentality issue. If we can’t solve that then it will become a common theme.”
Alty will try to make amends for last weekend’s match against Aldershot this Saturday.
The Shots are one of the Robins’ bogey teams, having taken 6 points from Parkinson’s men last season, and even relegating them to the National League North back in 2007.
Last season Aldershot finished mid-table, but a poor start to the season has left them looking over their shoulder at those fighting against relegation.
Nonetheless Aldershot have won their last three league games, including upsets against highflyers Grimsby Town and early promotion favourites Torquay United.
They sit in 18th position of the National League with 16 points from 17 games, whereas Altrincham sit in 12th place with 24 points from the same number of matches.
A small coach of fans will be completing the 400-mile trip to Hampshire.
