The Robins will make the trip to Norfolk this weekend as they prepare to take on King’s Lynn in a crucial bottom-of-the-table clash.
Altrincham go into the fixture with the worst form in the division – having picked up just two points from their last six games.
Nonetheless last weekend’s thrilling comeback against Woking FC will have given the team a much-needed confidence boost. Thanks to Ryan Colclough’s second-half brace, the Robins salvaged a 2-2 draw in the dying embers of the game.
Phil Parkinson’s side currently sit in 19th place and remain 10 points above the relegation zone.
Speaking to Radio Robins after the Woking Game, Phil Parkinson said: “It does feel like the world is against us. Some of the teams we are playing, it feels like we are playing an FA Cup game every week.
“We have got to keep going until the bitter end in games.”
In his post-match interview Parkinson praised the fans for their support during a difficult time for the club.
“I felt the crowd have been great. It has been difficult for them and I understand why they have been frustrated.
“It’s really tough for us at this level, we are not one of the big hitters and we need to fight for everything.”
This weekend’s opposition are finding life even more difficult in the National League than the Robins.
King’s Lynn Town have spent the vast majority of the campaign in the relegation zone.
The Linnets, as they are nicknamed, have picked up just 15 points from 25 games, and find themselves 12 points from safety.
Nonetheless, King’s Lynn gained four points from their last two games, including a remarkable away draw to high-flyers Grimsby Town.
A win on Saturday could see the Robins move up to 16th, but a loss could push them down to 20th – one position above the drop zone.
