Sacha Lord, co-creator of the Parklife festival and The Warehouse Project and one of the most important figures on the Manchester nightlife scene, is to hold a book signing in Altrincham to mark the launch of his new memoir.
The event, organised by Altrincham BID, will take place at The Con Club on Thursday 25th April, 6.30-7.30pm.
Altrincham-born Lord's book, Tales from the Dancefloor, is published on Thursday.
“I’ve been shot at in a drive-by shooting, bundled into a car by gangsters and had death threats," said Lord, who is also currently Manchester's Nighttime Economy Advisor.
"I’ve been sued and broke, I’ve had to deal with an army of rats who were high on cocaine, had £130,000 stolen in an armed robbery and been targeted by a Romanian organised crime gang.
“I’ve been lucky to have been in the eye of the storm of a musical and cultural revolution, to have some of the most incredible life-affirming experiences, to meet most of my musical heroes and to have thrown some of the biggest parties this country has ever seen.
"This book will reveal everything which happened behind the scenes, the good, the bad and the ugly.”
Attendees at the Altrincham event will have the chance to meet Lord in person, purchase signed copies of his book, and engage in a Q&A discussion.
Tickets for the event are free can be booked here.
Mandy White, Altrincham BID’s Director, said: "We are delighted to host this event in collaboration with Sacha and offer the Altrincham community an opportunity to engage with his remarkable stories."
