Everything you need to know about Live at Wythenshawe Park featuring New Order, Johnny Marr and Blossoms

It's set to be an epic weekend.

Some proper Mancunian legends will be in town this weekend for the second Live from Wythenshawe Park event.

Last year, Noel Gallagher brought the house down with a superb set in what was the first big concert ever held in the historic park.

This year's follow-up event should be even more epic, with not one but two days packed with brilliant acts.

On Saturday 24th August it will be a special homecoming show for headliners New Order, playing in the city for the first time since 2021.

Support will come from Smiths legend and Wythenshawe's own Johnny Marr, who was born in Ardwick but lived in Wythenshawe from the age of nine and enrolled at Wythenshawe College in 1980.

Marr later said that his family's move to Wythenshawe was "like we'd moved to Beverly Hills", and that the move led to him meeting guitar players who "changed his life".

Also on the bill on Saturday is Roisin Murphy, Nadine Shah and Kyris.

On Sunday, Stockport's finest Blossoms play the same stage with support from Dublin’s Inhaler - featuring Bono's son Elijah Hewson on vocals - and York's Shed Seven.

Tom Ogden, lead vocalist of Blossoms, said: "Headlining our biggest show yet at Wythenshawe Park is going to be THE moment of our career so far for us.

"It makes me think of me and Joe going to watch Oasis and The Stone Roses at Heaton Park back when we were teenagers, and how important these big summer Manchester shows are to people."

Other acts joining the line-up include The K’s, TTRRUUCES, Seb Lowe and former Altrincham Grammar School boys The Guest List.

How to get to Wythenshawe Park

If you're looking to drive, there are still some car park tickets available for pre-booking online.

If you're catching a ride, look out for the yellow signage north of the site, directing you to the pick-up/drop-off point on Wythenshawe Road, M23 0AB.

For tram users, you have three stops to choose from: Wythenshawe Park, Moor Road and Baguley. However, please note that the Wythenshawe Park and Baguley stops will close at 10pm, so they won't be available for your return journey.

Lastly, you can take one of the shuttle buses back to the city centre for just £3.50. The service runs in a loop from Sale and the city centre, operating from 1pm-8pm for trips to Wythenshawe Park, and then from 8pm-1:30am for the return journey.

Are tickets still available?

The show is nearly sold out, but a limited number of tickets are still up for grabs. General admission starts at £61.60, and VIP tickets are available from £137.50.

This year, you can also opt for a full weekend ticket, giving you access to both the New Order gig on Saturday and the Blossoms gig on Sunday at a discounted price of £89.60. All tickets are available for purchase via Ticketmaster here.
