Wicker Witches’ Town Trail among a number of spooky events coming to Altrincham this Halloween

The trail will start at the Everyman Cinema.

A free Wicker Witches’ Town Trail is among a number of spooktacular events coming to Altrincham this Halloween season.

Organised by Altrincham BID, the trail will run from Tuesday 29th October to Sunday 3rd November.

Between 10am and 4pm each day, visitors can follow a trail across the town to uncover handcrafted wicker witches’ hats, spiders, bats and stars hidden around the town centre.

The trail is being sponsored by Everyman Altrincham and starts there, with trail sheets to guide participants.

Fancy dress is optional, but don’t forget to bring along your Wicker Witches’ Wand, which can be made at the OYEZ ARTS Halloween workshops on Saturday 26th October.

In addition to the trail, there are a host of other events and activities happening across Altrincham this October half term:

OYEZ ARTS Halloween Workshops, on Saturday 26th October, offer hands-on activities for the whole family, including Wicker Witches’ Wand Making, lantern crafting, comic strip creation, and gargoyle-making workshops. Join in the fun at Altrincham Town Hall from 10am.

Bounceback Food’s Carve & Cook, on Saturday 26th October, invites participants to carve pumpkins while learning how to turn the waste into delicious meals, a perfect blend of creativity and sustainability.

Wizard of Oz at Altrincham Garrick Playhouse (Monday 28th October – Sunday 3rd November) promises a magical musical journey for all the family. Book your tickets for an unforgettable adventure over the rainbow.

For the adults, there’s plenty of spooky-themed fun too. Alibi hosts a Halloween Quiz Night on Thursday 21st October with free entry, 2-4-1 cocktails and £4 beers, while Cresta Court Hotel will throw a Halloween Party Night on Saturday 26th October, complete with spooky music, delicious food and dancing until midnight.

And for families looking for even more half-term fun, there's the Howl’oween at Stamford Quarter on Sunday 27th October.

Dress up your hounds and enjoy an afternoon of tail-wagging fun, haunted hot dogs, and family-friendly activities.

Local businesses Fusion Plate, Mabel’s Café & Tearoom and Pho You are offering exclusive discounts for participants of the Wicker Witches’ Town Trail.

Altrincham BID Director, Mandy White, said: "This year’s Halloween activities are packed with excitement, creativity, and fun for everyone.

"The Wicker Witches’ Town Trail is a brilliant opportunity for families to enjoy a free experience while discovering our wonderful town.

"Alongside the trail, Altrincham boasts an incredible selection of places to shop, eat, and drink – so we invite everyone to come along, take part, and enjoy all the Halloween festivities."
