Winners announced at Altrincham's Ultimate Pudding Competition

"The quality of entries was truly outstanding."

A ten-year-old's stuffed madeleines, an 11-year-old's clock tower cake and a spiced apple creation have been crowned the winners of this year's Ultimate Pudding Competition.

The contest, which took place at Altrincham Town Hall as part of A Taste of Altrincham, invited bakers of all ages to showcase their skills across three categories: Child, Student and Adult.

Louis Dumont, aged 10, took the Child category with his stuffed madeleines, praised by judges for their exceptional quality and sophisticated execution.

Sarah Howitt, aged 11, won the Student category with a blueberry and carrot Altrincham Clock Tower cake, impressing judges with bold flavours and skill beyond her years.

Hannah Wellock claimed the Adult prize with a spiced apple and carrot cake featuring locally sourced ingredients, which judges said delivered on every level.

The panel included Carl Newton, CEO of headline sponsor Myerson Solicitors, Lisa Warnes of Cheshire Cookery School, Matt Townley of MOST Bakery, and Great British Bake Off star and author Maisam Algirgeet.

Carl Newton said: "The quality of entries this year was truly outstanding. The creativity, technical ability and attention to detail on display made judging incredibly difficult.

"Competitions like this perfectly showcase the talent within our community and highlight why Altrincham has such a strong and growing food culture."

The Ultimate Pudding Competition is part of A Taste of Altrincham, the ten-day food and drink festival organised by Altrincham BID and sponsored by Myerson Solicitors with support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
