The Stamford Quarter is hosting a free day of Easter celebrations this Saturday.
The Carrot Patch Celebrations forms part of a wider Easter programme of events across the town and promises something for all ages.
The Bowdon Allotment Society will be running drop-in seed planting workshops throughout the day, giving families a hands-on introduction to growing their own produce.
Jazz trio The Gershwin Gang will provide live music across the afternoon, while younger visitors can take part in a chocolate egg hunt, with eggs hidden across retailers throughout the Stamford Quarter.
Sostrene Grene will also be hosting Easter-themed pipe cleaner craft sessions, making carrots and other seasonal creations.
Nell's pop-up bar will be serving carrot-themed cocktails and soft drinks, with freshly made pizza available to order via QR code and delivered directly to tables on Stamford Square.
Workshops, storytelling and the Golden Carrot Trail
There's still plenty happening across the town before the Easter programme wraps up on Sunday.
On Friday 10th April, Bounceback Community Kitchen at Altrincham Market is running Kids' Gardening Workshops, with morning sessions for primary-age children and afternoon sessions for secondary school age.

Participants get to plant "Altringham" Heritage Carrot seeds to take home. Tickets are available on Eventbrite.
Also on Saturday 11th at Bounceback Community Kitchen, Cooking with Carrots workshops run at 10am for children (ages 6–11) and 1.30pm for adults. The chef-led sessions cover a carrot recipe and an introduction to fermentation. Tickets via Eventbrite.
And until Sunday 12th April, families can take part in the Golden Carrot Trail, hunting for hidden carrots placed in shop windows and businesses across the town centre.
Trail sheets are available from Everyman Altrincham, or the trail can be completed digitally through the Visit Altrincham app.
The heritage storytelling trail is also still running, with participating venues including Everyman Altrincham, Howden Insurance on Stamford New Road, OYEZ Arts at Altrincham Town Hall and Share Your Story on George Street, each hosting part of the story of the "Altringham" carrot.
The events are part of Altrincham BID's initiative to revive the "Altringham" heritage carrot, a variety once widely grown in the local area.
The Carrot Patch Celebrations takes place at The Stamford Quarter on Saturday 11th April, 11am–3pm. Entry is free. For the full programme visit VisitAltrincham.com.
