Bowdon’s rising jazz star Jamie Safiruddin will bring his band back “home” to the Cinnamon Club tonight for a special gig to launch their debut album.

The Ben Cox Band have been lauded by Jamie Cullum and their first LP, This Waiting Game, is one of The Telegraph’s albums of the year.

Safiruddin started attending the Cinnamon Club when he was just 13 and retains a close connection to the Bowdon venue as owner Neil Hughes is the band’s manager.

The band have just performed two sell-out shows at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s in London and have been booked for a further four nights, supporting Kyle Eastwood.

Tonight’s show starts at 7.30pm, with tickets costing £10.
