A 95-year-old man has died four days after a car crashed into a Jeep in Hale.

The pensioner was a passenger in a blue Honda Jazz being driven by an 85-year-old woman on Hale Road on Sunday, December 3rd.

The car then collided with a stationary blue Jeep Cherokee near to Graysands Road at around 7pm.

Both were taken to Wythenshawe Hospital and were released later that evening, but the man’s condition deteriorated and he died on Thursday December 7th.

Officers from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for witnesses and anyone who has dash-cam footage.

Sergeant Jon McColl said: “Specially trained officers continue to support the man’s loved ones through this heart-breaking time.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and saw this collision take place or saw the Honda before the incident.

“At first, you might not have necessarily spoken to police because you might not have known how serious the collision was.

“If that’s the case, or you have any information about it, then please get in touch as soon as possible.”

Anyone with any information should call SCIU on 0161 856 4741.
